Candidate in Cotabato City attacked by unknown men

Suspect on the murder of a businessman and supposed candidate for Councilor in Cotabato City is being searched by the military.


The victim Joseph Datuwata was dead on the spot, said the authorities while his children Saira and Esmael, residents of LR Sebastian St.Cotabato City, were badly wounded.


Police reports stated that Datuwata was about to leave his home at around 7:00 Am in the morning to bring his kids to School, boarding an Isuzu Frontier when two armed men blocked them.


Another two men riding a motorcycle fired at him, taking him down.
Datuwata was able to fight back with salvos but eventually did not survive, after succumbing gunshots in his body.
