2010-03-10 | 02:45:39 pm

General Victor Ibrado formally handed down his throne to newly appointed Lt. General Delfin Bangit as the new Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff.

General Bangit is a member of the Philippine Military Academy, from the Makatarungan class of 1978.

Bangit was controversial, as he was formerly a Commander of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, and now regarded as the 40fh Chief of Staff of the AFP.

From the PSG, Bangit was promoted as Chief of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP), became the commanding General of the Southern Luzon Command, and the commanding General of the Philippine Army (PA).

PGMA was accompanied by Defense Secretary Norberto Gonzales, and VP Noli de Castro in the said awarding event.

The AFP warmly welcomed Bangit, and AFP Spokesman Lt. Col. Romeo Brawner Jr., even stated that the leadership of Ibrado and the recently promoted Former PSG chief has no slight difference at all.
