Barbara Bush, dissed by netizens on V Magazine photo shoot
2010-08-31 | 04:29:51 pm
Former First Daughter Barbara Bush recently posed for V Magazine, on their New York Socialites article.

As of now, the 28 year old Bush runs a public health Charity in New York.

Celebrity Photographer Terry Richardson took photos of selected high society figures in a 70’s inspired photo shoot with other socialites; Tinsley Mortimer’s sister Minnie and designers Rachel Roy and Shoshanna Gruss (got famous for dating Jerry Seinfeld once.)
V Magazine stylists Stevie Nicks and Anjelica Huston dolled up Bush, with an Ali McGraw inspired look, in a white button down shirt, swirly golden neck piece, and navy blue bell bottoms.

However, among all socialites, Bush got the most rants and raves from netizens.
In a yahoo article, comments about her physique seemed a bit offensive by name-calling her, as a "nazi", or "She got her father’s evil eyes."

Woman to stand trial after slashing Di Caprio's face
2010-08-27 | 01:15:17 pm
A judge ordered a woman to stand trial on a charge of slashing Leonardo DiCaprio's face with glass during a 2005 party.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Edmund Willcox Clarke ordered Aretha Wilson to face one count of assault with a deadly weapon. The charge includes an allegation that Wilson, 40, caused great bodily injury.

The details and extent of DiCaprio's injuries were not made public, although the judge, who has reviewed photos of the injuries to the actor's ear and neck, said Thursday that "this would not be an injury that would be called trivial or moderate, in my view."

Those photos also were not made public. DiCaprio did not attend the hearing.

Wilson was returned to Los Angeles in the five-year-old case after waiving extradition from Canada.

Woman gets Paul Mc Cartney's sign tattooed
2010-08-18 | 10:50:15 am
Call it a signature in very permanent ink. A Pennsylvania woman took a sign to Paul McCartney's show Sunday in Philadelphia requesting he autograph her back with a marker.

McCartney called Rose Ann Belluso up on stage and obliged, and she decided to make the moment last forever.

She had McCartney's signature permanently etched onto her body at Extreme Ink Tattoo Parlor in West Chester. A tattoo artist went over the signature on Monday.

Belluso, of Downingtown, says the painful procedure was a no-brainer.

Haiti President: Wyclef Jean?
2010-08-05 | 02:48:32 pm
Wyclef Jean —founder of YÉle Haiti (Haiti Freedom Cry) foundation; Haiti's "Bob Marley;" Haiti ambassador-at-large; member of groundbreaking hiphop group, the Fugees, and now Haiti's next president?

Wyclef Jean left Haiti to live in New York when he was nine but it seems Haiti has never left his heart.

As a member of the Fugees in the mid-nineties, Jean would incorporate Haitian rhythms like compas and rasin into their songs, which were often political in nature.

Jean did not take U.S. citizenship, instead, he carried a Haitian passport on his international concert tours.

Lohan to serve three-month jail sentence
2010-07-21 | 09:56:18 am
Lindsay Lohan was taken into custody Tuesday — a bit late, but without incident — to begin serving her jail sentence for a probation violation.

The actress rose and was handcuffed behind her back after a brief hearing. She arrived at court about 10 minutes late, prompting Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel to begin calling other matters.

The judge told Lohan's attorney and a prosecutor that she wanted to meet with them later Tuesday to discuss issues in the case.

Lohan was accompanied to court by her mother, Dina and younger sister Ali, who wiped away tears after her sister was taken into a lockup. The actress' father, Michael Lohan, was also present.

Revel ordered officials not to allow Lohan to serve any of her sentence on house arrest or work release, but she is likely to spend much less time in custody than her three-month sentence.
